Shatner Supports Fan Auction

Capt. Kirk himself is supporting the victims of the Sept. 11 tragedy

William Shatner, better known to Star Trek fans as Captain James T. Kirk, has lent his support to the Star Trek Charity Auction, sponsored by the Star Trek Galactic Newsletter.

The auction is being organized to help benefit the families of the victims of the Sept. 11 tragedy by auctioning donated Star Trek items from fans and celebrities, and then donating the proceeds to the New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund.

Shatner and his official website, www.WilliamShatner.com, donated a copy of his new DVD, “Mind Meld: Secrets Behind the Voyage of a Lifetime,” autographed by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. “Mind Meld” is a new 75-minute documentary on the Star Trek phenomenon starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.
