By WAYNE HALLWhile this puts the Chrisopher Nolan-helmed sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins" within $100 million of "Titanic," it isn't considered likely that the movie's legs will be sturdy enough to catch the James Cameron disaster epic.
However, the film has moved up to the third most popular movie of the Labor Day weekend after living in fourth spot for quite some time. It took in $11,025,00.
What's next for "Dark Knight?" Although no release date has been set, DVD sales are expected to be strong, but that will likely mean that the film will be pulled from theaters.
"The Dark Knight" is the most popular movie of 2008 and has broken numerous records for domestic earnings and has received uniformly positive reviews from critics. It is still shown in theaters across the country..
