By ALAN STANLEY BLAIR"If Season 2 hadn't been cut, we were going to focus [the second half of the season] on the villains," story editor Chuck Kim told TV Guide. Instead, Volume III, kicking off Sept. 22, will take a more in-depth look at the temptation of the dark side.
"The great thing is we've made [that arc] much better than it would have been," Kim said. "We'll be seeing some new [villainous] characters, but we'll also be dealing with our series regulars and see how their abilities are 'tempting' them."
The original plan for the second half of the second season was to focus mainly on the villains (not so surprising given the name of the third volume) and several new baddies have already been lined up. As previously reported by SyFy Portal, David Anders' Adam Munroe will rise again and Kristen Bell will be making a return as the ever so slightly evil Elle.
"Adam is an immortal guy, so he can't die so easily," he hinted. "It's pretty safe to say that he could come back at any time from that coffin" in which he was buried alive."
Of course, with the return of Adam there will be plenty of screen-time for the heroes ... particularly Hiro (Masi Oka).
"Heroes" returns to NBC on Sept. 22.
