'Transformers 2' Will Be Bigger

If you thought giant trucks transforming into robots, warfare in downtown Los Angeles and a massive government facility underneath the Hoover damn was big-scale action, you'll blow a gasket when you see the Transformers sequel.

According to co-writer Roberto Orci, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" will be on a bigger scale than the first movie and will include many more of the gargantuan robots and a more science-fiction centric storyline.

"The humor will be similar, but the structure of the movie is a little bit more like many sequels," Orci told SciFi Wire. "The stakes are a little higher and the tone is a bit more sci-fi. It's got a little more of a sci-fi element. The bad guys are little more coherent in terms of what their plan is and what they're attempting to do. So it feels more like more of a sci-fi battle."

Unlike the first film however, "Revenge of the Fallen" will include the transforming machines right off the bat and will dispense with the mystery of their reveal -- an element that was at the core of the original.

"Maybe there's less humans," Orci added. "The first movie was predicated on the structure of a mystery, at which point, at the midpoint, the Transformers are revealed. This movie is structured differently in that you now know there are Transformers in the world, and therefore you can get right to them. As a result, there's kind of more Transformers throughout the movie."

There have been several rumors circulating the Web regarding the film, including reports that the Dinobots may make an appearance and more time will be dedicated to the broken world of Cybertron. Orci declined to comment on the rumors, however did confirm that fans of the original stories will get a kick out of the female Autobot, Arcee, and also the Decepticon, Soundwave ... both characters that were cut out of the first film.

"If you liked the first one, you'll like this one," he promised. "But if you were a genuine fan of what Transformers was and felt a little bit left behind by the first one, I think this one's going to be more for you."
