OMG! Did 'Battlestar Galactica' Finally Make An Emmy Shortlist?

It looks like at least one actor -- or should we say actress -- has a chance of making one of Emmy's prestigious acting categories.

Mary McDonnell, who plays President Laura Roslin in "Battlestar Galactica," has turned up on an unofficial shortlist for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

The list is not technically official, but is what reportedly is being considered by a blue ribbon panel, according to Tom Oh! and GoldDerby.com. The list, which will be pared down to just five people, includes McDonnell as well as Patricia Arquette from "Medium," Glenn Close from "Damages," Minnie Driver from "The Riches," Sally Field from "Brothers & Sisters," Mariska Hargitay from "Law and Order: SVU," Holly Hunter from "Saving Grace," Elisabeth Moss from "Mad Men," Kyra Sedgwick from "The Closer," and Jeanne Tripplehorn from "Big Love."

Matthew Fox of "Lost" seems to be missing from the Oustanding Lead Actor in a Drama category, but it does include Michael C. Hall from Showtime's "Dexter." That shortlist includes Gabriel Byrne from "In Treatment," Kyle Chandler from "Friday Night Lights," Bryan Cranston from "Breaking Bad," Patrick Dempsey from "Grey's Anatomy," Jon Hamm from "Mad Men," Eddie Izzard from "The Riches," Hugh Laurie from "House," Denis Leary from "Rescue Me" and James Spader from "Boston Legal."

The panel apparently met last week to make determinations on who will be in the final five. Awards will be handed out Sept. 21.
