Season 2 is under way for "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda" and the cast of the series is talking more about what to expect this year.

"It's a bigger and bolder adventure," Kevin Sorbo (Dylan Hunt) told Sci-Fi.com. "Season 1 set the groundwork and set a lot of background on all the different characters and where they came from. I think Season 2 now becomes more of a bigger adventure for people. It's going to be a lot more fun, a lot more action, a lot more adventure, humor, romance ... everything's going to be in there."

There is more stability in the new season, at least according to Keith Hamilton Cobb, who plays Tyr Anasazi.

"I think that we've pretty much decided after one full season what the show it about," he said. "First seasons you're always in a state of flux -- what are we doing, who are we? I think having established that a little bit better, we can begin to tell stories from a place of greater certainty."

And with that stability comes new aliens.

"We've had a couple of new villains this year," said Lexa Doig, who plays the artificial intelligence, Andromeda. "The Kalderans and the Ogami are great looking aliens -- really physically kind of dark and scary. But interesting looking -- I haven't really seen anything else like them. We're now alliwed with some Nietzscheans. There's a great character in a great episode ('Into the Labyrinth') that James Marsters played. He was fantastic."

Sorbo also mentioned that inhabitants from his home planet, the Vedrans, will finally be introduced.

"They're a race bred to be superior, bred to be these powerful advocates of what the Commonwealth used to be."

And letting go of the past has been tough for his character.

"He's going to come to terms with the reality of where he is now," Sorbo said. "This season has one particular episode called 'Home Fires,' where he just comes to the realization that everything he had in the past -- his fiancee, his family, his friends -- they are really gone. They're testing me a lot more this year, which is good. I told the writers to test me -- I told them to give me a little more drama, and emotion, spiritual beats, whatever, anything. Make it a bit more interesting for not only for the viewers to watch, but for me to play."
