By MICHAEL HINMANThe ABC series earned a 7.2 rating/12 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research. It was easily beat by the 9.6/16 from "Without A Trace" in the Thursday 10 p.m. slot for CBS. However, it was far stronger than the season finale of "ER" on NBC, which earned just a 5.5/9.
In fact, CBS would take home the entire night, earning an 8.7/14, ahead of the 7.8/13 from ABC thanks to "Grey's Anatomy," which earned a 10.3/16. That is a 30 percent audience loss between "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost."
On The CW, Smallville picked up a 2.4/4 while the season finale of "Supernatural" earned a 1.9/3, all within the norms for both those series, which are returning next season.
Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
