Sackhoff Loses Out On 'CSI' Role

She might be one of television's best female badasses, but apparently Katee Sackhoff can't please everyone.

Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide says the "Battlestar Galactica" actress who made the spotlight as the tough fighter pilot Starbuck, was apparently the leading actress to take over Jorja Fox's role on the CBS series "CSI." While she had won over executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar, it ended up being the suits at CBS plus Jerry Bruckheimer himself which put Sackhoff's candidacy for the role at a sudden end.

It's a bit sad as many fans would love to see Sackhoff take on a meaty role similar to what Fox had before her departure.

In the meantime, Sackhoff continues filming for "Battlestar Galactica," which is currently airing its fourth and final season on SciFi Channel.

Other actors are getting gigs, however. Tricia Helfer -- the infamous Number Six -- has joined "Burn Notice," and Tehmoh Penikett, who plays Helo, has picked up a spot on the new Joss Whedon series "Dollhouse."
