'Lost' Ratings Match Season Low

It wasn't a good night for "Lost" Thursday night, but in all honesty, it wasn't a good night for much of anyone with even some of television's biggest shows hitting series low.

"Lost" posted a 7.0 rating/13 share according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research. That is virtually the same rating the ABC show got the last week of March just before it went into hiatus for nearly two months.

It finished behind "Without a Trace" on CBS, which won the 10 p.m. hour with an 8.7/15, according to Zap2it. However, "Lost" did beat "ER" on NBC, which managed just a 5.1/9.

The audience for "Lost" was down nearly 8 percent from last week, and it lost more than 31 percent of its audience from its "Grey's Anatomy" lead-in, which delivered the night's top ratings at 10.2/16.

"Smallville" did a little better than its previous week, while "Supernatural" fell to a season low at a 1.6/3 on The CW.

ABC finished second for the night overall with a 7.6/12, a bit behind CBS which had a 9.1/15. Fox was third with a 5.0/8 while NBC trailed with a 4.4/7. The CW picked up a 2.0/3.

However, ABC led the night in adults 18 to 49, a key demographic, thanks to those numbers' strengths in "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost." It picked up a 4.4 rating, just behind the 4.1 earned by CBS.

Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
