By ALAN STANLEY BLAIRSpeaking with SciFi Wire, Olmos (who plays Adm. Adama on the series) explained that it is entirely possible that this season could go so dark and terrifying that the entire cast could end up at deaths door before even coming close to finding the 13th colony.
"Basically, if it’s true to form, no one makes it," Olmos said. The actor also said that he believes the series to be a "commentary on our times," and accurately charts today’s political climate through science-fiction.
If that is the case though and the days of the colonial survivors are indeed numbered, does this mean a fan revolt may be on the horizon?
"I think that people would be shocked, and they'd be hurt, and they would be totally, totally frustrated," Olmos added. "But I've got to tell you, that's a truth that people have to realize. We may do it to ourselves [in real life]. It all depends on us now and what choices we make."
In the fourth season of the series, fans can expect to see more in-fighting than before as what can only be classed as a civil war erupts between the Cylon models and the Centurions. Meanwhile, due to her surprising resurrection at the end of the last season, Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) is the center of attention when the ship believes her to be one of the final five Cylons.
