'Star Trek XI' Enterprise Interior Revealed

The photo, which can be found by clicking here, was the result of fans discovering that a red blinking light on the official site (where it says "under construction") would direct them to a site featuring the Enterprise actually under construction at www.ncc-1701.com.

That site features four cameras of the ship yard that can be brought into focus by changing the frequency.

Gustavo Leao of TrekWeb said that if the page is allowed to sit long enough, the "offline" camera on the page shows the new USS Enterprise corridor for only a second.

The site follows the theme of the "Star Trek" trailer that was released in theaters last Friday with "Cloverfield," and now available on the official site. In that trailer, the Enterprise is shown under construction in some land-based shipyard, assumed to be on Earth (but likely could be anywhere else).

Director J.J. Abrams is known for having very intricate online viral campaigns to follow with his projects, which were used for the ABC series "Lost" and most recently for "Cloverfield." It's likely that the online marketing for "Star Trek XI" will only get bigger and better as the Dec. 25 premiere date draws near.
