ABC Stays With 'Lost' Schedule Despite Strike

Executive Producer Damon Lindelof might be warning of a cliffhanger that could make fans angry, but ABC seems hellbent on going through with airing the available episodes of "Lost's" fourth season at the beginning of 2008.

Broadcasting & Cable says the network would prefer to air eight of the 16 episodes scheduled for the fourth season despite a strike, rather than wait to show the episodes all at once as writers had intended.

Networks aren't listening too much to writers right now, as none of them have showed up to work, and others are walking picket lines while the Writers Guild of America continues its strike.

Fox, on the other hand, has decided not to take that route, and announced it would hold "24" until a full season can be produced.

ABC has yet to announce exactly when "Lost" will return, except that it likely will happen in time for February sweeps, nor what timeslot it will occupy since its old timeslot is being happily filled by strongly rated programming that the network may not be interested in breaking up.
