NBC Monday Lineup Hits New Lows

Viewers seem to be fleeing from NBC's Monday genre lineup as all three shows on the schedule clocked in their poorest performances of the season leading the network into a "distant" third place showing in overnight ratings, according to Zap2it.

"Chuck," "Heroes" and "Journeyman" all posted their lowest ratings so far, each losing at least half a ratings point, in being dominated by ABC and CBS.

"Heroes," the network's signature show on Monday night, earned a 6.3 rating/10 share according to Fast National Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, finishing behind "Dancing with the Stars" and "Samantha Who" on ABC and comedies from CBS. It was able to beat "K-Ville" on Fox, but with a 4.2/6, it seems that everyone is beating that show.

That was a step up from the audience Chuck earned in the 8 p.m. timeslot with a 4.4/7, being barely beaten by "Prison Break" on Fox. "Dancing" along with more comedies from CBS were the leaders in the hour.

"Journeyman" may be seeing some of its final days on the network as it lost a good third of "Heroes" audience gaining a 4.0/6. "CSI: Miami" on CBS and "The Bachelor" on ABC made easy work of the "Quantum Leap"-like show.

NBC had a 4.9/7 overall, enough to beat Fox, which was dragged down by "K-Ville." ABC won the night with a 10.6/16 followed by CBS with a 7.9/12.

NBC also finished a distant third in the key demographic of adults 18 to 49 with a 3.4 rating.

Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
