By ALAN STANLEY BLAIRAlthough Piper herself has denied a return to the show and Clarke had adamantly assured fans that his current project (which he is unable to discuss) is in no way related to "Doctor Who,"British newspaper The Daily Star claims to have an inside source that says they all will be back next season … and that they are only the beginning.
According to the tabloid, hot on the heels of Rose and Mickey will be Jackie and Pete Tyler and classic companion Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen). BBC bosses have also confirmed that Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) will be making an appearance in the final three episodes of the fourth season, but the Daily Star insists that Capt. Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) will tag along with her in another "Doctor Who"/"Torchwood" crossover. New full-time companion Catherine Tate will also be present.
"Fans will be thrilled," the source reportedly told the newspaper. "With four of the Doctor’s assistants in one show, it’s a dream come true."
But if the very idea of all the shows major companions making a return doesn’t make your heart flutter, then perhaps the reason for their return will have you whooping for joy. Each year the revitalized series has made a tradition of bringing back a classic villain and this year that baddie may in fact be Davros, creator of the Daleks.
The return of Davros is also something that has been rumored for several weeks, with stories circulating that none other than Sir Ben Kingsley will play the iconic villain.
"This is the daddy of all shows," the source continued. "The writer, Russell T. Davies, really wants to pull out all the stops for the finale next year."
The most puzzling thing of all however is that BBC officials have already revealed the classic villain of Season 4 to be the warlike Sontarans. Playing the Sontaran leader is Christopher Ryan, who has previously appeared on the "Doctor Who" series during the Colin Baker years.
