Oops ... iTunes Uploads Wrong 'Atlantis' Episode

Mad because all those television writers (like us) get some episodes ahead of time?

Now is your chance to get ahead of the game, and it only costs $1.99. But it's a limited time offer, because once MGM realizes it's posted the wrong episode of "Stargate: Atlantis" on iTunes, it's sure to come down.

Fans looking to download Friday's episode of "Stargate: Atlantis" from iTunes will find the correct name, "Adrift," but the episode they get is not the fourth season premiere. Instead, it's the fourth episode of the season, the yet-to-be-aired "Doppelganger."

It's unclear where the mistake was made, but someone close to the production tells SyFy Portal that the confusion may have come from the fact that "Doppelganger" was shot first, thus carries the actual production number of "401" instead of "Adrift," which officially is episode "401." Apparently, whoever was in charge of putting the episode up made the honest mistake of putting up the first episode produced instead of the first episode aired.

SyFy Portal is still waiting to hear back from SciFi Channel officials -- they understandably did not return a request for comment after-hours -- but it's likely that as soon as they are aware of the issue, the episodes will be changed. So buy while you can.

"Stargate: Atlantis" airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on SciFi Channel.

UPDATE: GateWorld is reporting that the episode is no longer available on iTunes as of 3 p.m. ET Sunday. The episode from Friday is not yet up, but it is expected to be up by Monday on iTunes.
