Janeway not in Trek X?

Plus, some insights from Alice Krige on the end of 'Star Trek: Voyager'

Will Kate Mulgrew (Capt. Kathryn Janeway, 'Star Trek: Voyager') be making that rumored cameo in "Star Trek X?"

Mulgrew dismissed early rumors of her having a cameo appearance in the next Star Trek movie, saying that she knows "nothing about it."

"Rumors abound, don't they?" she recently told SFX Magazine. "The Internet is always right! It's ahead of everybody else. Do I kill Picard (Patrick Stewart), or is it a cameo?"

Mulgrew also said she hadn't had a chance to visit the "Enterprise" set, but hinted that there might be some problems there already.

"I understand that it's not a very pleasurable place to be at the moment," she said. "But I think it's fascinating, don't you? To go back and see the formation of Starfleet. I wish them the best of luck."

Mulgrew finally responded to the attacks Robert Beltran (Cmdr. Chakotay) has made against the series the past couple years, calling his remarks a "terrible waste of energy."

"I have great respect for Robert Beltran. But I think it's sour grapes," she said. "It begs the question of his personal well-being, don't you think? It seems to reveal a kind of insecurity. But I personally don't understand it. He's better than that. He really is better than that."

SFX Magazine also had a chance to catch up with Alice Krige, who resurrected her bad guy from "Star Trek: First Contact," the Borg Queen, for the series finale of Voyager, "Endgame."

"The difficulty for me (in doing the episode) was on post-production," Krige said. "I had to redub First Contact, and had the great luxury of going back twice. We spent several days at it. On 'Endgame,' I went to Dublin, and had just got back to London, so my American had kind of been replaced by a working-class English accent. Then I had to revoice 'Endgame' on the phone to (Los Angeles). We had no time at all.

"And I felt that -- certainly in the scene with [Jeri Ryan] -- I compromised what was already there. But for reasons of sound quality, they said they couldn't use the production recording. I know that the layeredness of the original scene is not in the episode."
