By WAYNE HALLRonald D. Moore knows fans are anxious for the return of the successful SciFi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica." During an interview with E! Online, the show's executive producer gave hints about the two-hour special episode called "Razor" as well as a look into the show's final season.
"Razor" will air on the SciFi Channel on November 24. It is the story of Kendra Shaw, played by Stephanie Jacobsen.
"'Lee promotes her to be his second-in-command" on the Pegasus, Moore said, ''and you wonder, who is this woman?''
Getting to know Kendra requires looking into ''a lot of things that we've talked about or alluded to but never actually seen," according to Moore. "You start flashing all the way back to before the Cylon attack on the colonies, to who she was, how she came to the Pegasus, what happened to them, and what was their story before they met up with Galactica.''
The show's writers were especially happy to bring back Adm. Cain, played by Michelle Forbes.
''Everyone sat up in the writers room and said, 'Yeah! Let's do something with Pegasus and Adm. Cain because everyone missed her,''' Moore said.
Fans will also see how Gina, one of the "Six" Cylons, moved from working as a systems analyst to being beaten, raped and tortured as a prisoner on the Pegasus who eventually would be responsible for killing Adm. Cain.
A younger William Adama, played by different actor instead of Edward James Olmos, will be seen fighting Cylons in a Viper as well.
Of course, all this leads to the fourth and final season of BSG, which Moore calls "very big."
"We're moving very strongly into the finale of the show," he said. "It's about getting to Earth, and what does Earth mean, and what is it, and where is it."
Special guest stars will abound, including the return of Lucy Lawless as D'Anna Biers and Nana Visitor (from "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine") as a patient going through cancer treatment with President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell).
And Moore will reveal just who the last Cylon model is during the final year. Apparently the actor portraying that character already knows about it. However, that "reveal" hasn't been filmed yet, according to Moore.
