‘Heroes’ Cast Goes Global, Seriously!

PLUS: Spinoff show won't premiere until May

The following story contains MODERATE SPOILERS for the second season of "Heroes."

The heck with saving the world! It looks as though Tim Kring and the cast and crew of the NBC hit series "Heroes" are poised to take over the world.

There's lots of excitement for fans of "Heroes" as the cast held a major press conference two days into working on Season 2. And it involves the people behind the show visiting some major cities around the globe to promote the show.

To kick off next season, and to promote the release of the DVD box set for Season 1 -- especially in places the show has not yet been seen -- the cast and crew will go on a global tour of at least seven cities in seven countries including Toyko, Hong Kong, Singapore, Munich, Paris, London and New York City. Fans will be able to follow their worldwide tour, which will include photos and blogs, on NBC.com.

"The central message of 'Heroes' always has been one of hope — the idea that people from all around the world could come together and do great things. And this project is based on those ideals," Kring told the gathering of about 50 reporters.

The DVD box set, which will be released for sale on Aug. 28, includes 50 deleted scenes, commentaries, and the full 73-minute premiere episode.

The actors who will be part of the effort include Greg Grunberg (Parker), Santiago Cabrera (Isaac), Jack Coleman (HRG), Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah), Ali Larter (Niki/Jessica), James Kyson Lee (Ando), Masi Oka (Hiro), Hayden Panettiere (Claire), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder), Zachary Quinto (Sylar), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) and Milo Ventimiglia (Peter). Not all cast members will be going to every city, however.

Missing from the list of cast members was Leonard Roberts, who plays DL in the series, and didn't seem to be doing too good health-wise at the end of the first season. It is not clear why Roberts was not included, but there has been some speculation that he may not be back next season.

During the event, the fate and future of the heroes was dished out.

Grunberg mentioned he would begin filming this week. So unless they are filming his wake and funeral, chances are Matt Parkman will be part of Season 2.
