Ummm ... Britney Spears Coming To 'Doctor Who'?

Not sure if Russell T. Davies is serious about this one

By MICHAEL HINMAN
Jan-26-2007

The acting career of pop singer Britney Spears hasn't been the greatest. Strike that, anything about Britney Spears as of late hasn't been the greatest. But for whatever reason, Russell T. Davies likes what he sees, and told a British tabloid that he has a role just for her on "Doctor Who."

The Daily Star is reporting that Davies wants Spears to appear as a "raunchy bunch of sex-mad aliens," using special effects to create multiple versions of her.

"I'd love Britney to do it -- it would be so much fun," Davies apparently told the tabloid. "I'm not sure if she'll come to Cardiff where the show is show, so I'm nagging the BBC to fund a Hollywood special."

It's likely Davies is having a little fun at the Daily Star's expense, but there is no word from the Spears camp if she is interested ... or even knows where Cardiff is.

"Doctor Who" returns to BBC this spring, and is expected to hit the American market in the fall.
